He who holds a modak in a joyful hand, always the means of release,
kalaadharaavatansakan vilaasilokarakshakam.
who wears the crescent as an ornament, who guards this shining world,
anaayakaikanaayakan vinaashitebhadaityakan
the one leader of the leaderless, who destroyed the elephant demon,
nataashubhaashunaashakan namaami tan vinaayakam.
who swiftly ends the ill fortune of those who bow — I bow to that Vinayaka.
natetaraatibheekaran navoditaarkabhaasvaran
Terrible to the enemies of those who bow, bright as the newly risen sun,
namatsuraarinirjaran nataadhikaapaduddharam.
before whom the gods' foes wither, who lifts the bowed out of great danger,
sureshvaran nidheeshvaran gajeshvaran ganeshvaran
lord of the gods, lord of treasures, lord of elephants, lord of the ganas,
maheshvaran tamaashraye paraatparan nirantaram.
the great lord, higher than the highest — in him I take refuge, without pause.
samastalokashankaran nirastadaityakunjaran
Who does good to every world, who cast out the demon elephant,
daretarodaran varan varebhavaktramaksharam.
whose belly is wide, the boon-giver, elephant-faced and imperishable,
kripaakaran kshamaakaran mudaakaran yashaskaran
maker of mercy, of forgiveness, of joy, of good name,
manaskaran namaskritaan namaskaromi bhaasvaram.
who steadies the minds of those who bow — I bow to that shining one.
akinchanaartimaarjanan chirantanoktibhaajanan
Who wipes away the pain of the destitute, the vessel of the ancient word,
puraaripoorvanandanan suraarigarvacharvanam.
the elder son of Shiva, the chewer of the pride of the gods' enemies,
prapanchanaashabheeshanan dhananjayaadibhooshanan
fearsome in the undoing of the world, adorned with the serpent Dhananjaya,
kapoladaanavaaranan bhaje puraanavaaranam.
whose temples run with ichor — I worship that ancient elephant.
nitaantakaantadantakaantimantakaantakaatmajan
Son of him who ended Death, lovely with the lustre of his one tusk,
achintyaroopamantaheenamantaraayakrintanam.
of form beyond thought, without end, the cutter of every hindrance,
hridantare nirantaran vasantamev yoginaan
who dwells unceasingly within the hearts of yogis —
tamekadantamev tan vichintayaami santatam.
on that single-tusked one alone I meditate, always.
mahaaganeshapancharatnamaadaren yo'nvahan
Whoever, with reverence, every day
prajalpati prabhaatake hridi smaran ganeshvaram.
