Remover of obstacles; first to be invoked

mudākarāttamodakaṁ sadā vimuktisādhakaṁ

He who holds a modak in a joyful hand, always the means of release,

kalādharāvataṁsakaṁ vilāsilokarakṣakam.

who wears the crescent as an ornament, who guards this shining world,

anāyakaikanāyakaṁ vināśitebhadaityakaṁ

the one leader of the leaderless, who destroyed the elephant demon,

natāśubhāśunāśakaṁ namāmi taṁ vināyakam.

who swiftly ends the ill fortune of those who bow — I bow to that Vinayaka.

natetarātibhīkaraṁ navoditārkabhāsvaraṁ

Terrible to the enemies of those who bow, bright as the newly risen sun,

namatsurārinirjaraṁ natādhikāpaduddharam.

before whom the gods' foes wither, who lifts the bowed out of great danger,

sureśvaraṁ nidhīśvaraṁ gajeśvaraṁ gaṇeśvaraṁ

lord of the gods, lord of treasures, lord of elephants, lord of the ganas,

maheśvaraṁ tamāśraye parātparaṁ nirantaram.

the great lord, higher than the highest — in him I take refuge, without pause.

samastalokaśaṁkaraṁ nirastadaityakuñjaraṁ

Who does good to every world, who cast out the demon elephant,

daretarodaraṁ varaṁ varebhavaktramakṣaram.

whose belly is wide, the boon-giver, elephant-faced and imperishable,

kr̥pākaraṁ kṣamākaraṁ mudākaraṁ yaśaskaraṁ

maker of mercy, of forgiveness, of joy, of good name,

manaskaraṁ namaskr̥tāṁ namaskaromi bhāsvaram.

who steadies the minds of those who bow — I bow to that shining one.

akiñcanārtimārjanaṁ cirantanoktibhājanaṁ

Who wipes away the pain of the destitute, the vessel of the ancient word,

purāripūrvanandanaṁ surārigarvacarvaṇam.

the elder son of Shiva, the chewer of the pride of the gods' enemies,

prapañcanāśabhīṣaṇaṁ dhanañjayādibhūṣaṇaṁ

fearsome in the undoing of the world, adorned with the serpent Dhananjaya,

kapoladānavāraṇaṁ bhaje purāṇavāraṇam.

whose temples run with ichor — I worship that ancient elephant.

nitāntakāntadantakāntimantakāntakātmajaṁ

Son of him who ended Death, lovely with the lustre of his one tusk,

acintyarūpamantahīnamantarāyakr̥ntanam.

of form beyond thought, without end, the cutter of every hindrance,

hr̥dantare nirantaraṁ vasantameva yogināṁ

who dwells unceasingly within the hearts of yogis —

tamekadantameva taṁ vicintayāmi santatam.

on that single-tusked one alone I meditate, always.

mahāgaṇeśapañcaratnamādareṇa yo'nvahaṁ

Whoever, with reverence, every day

prajalpati prabhātake hr̥di smaran gaṇeśvaram.

recites these five jewels of Mahaganesha at dawn, holding Ganesh ji in the heart,

arogatāmadoṣatāṁ susāhitīṁ suputratāṁ

soon gains good health, freedom from fault, a gift for words, good children,

samāhitāyuraṣṭabhūtimabhyupaiti so'cirāt.

a long and settled life, and the eight kinds of prosperity.
