What Kalava is, the numbers behind it, and the story of a festival that falls on two different days this autumn.
The story this autumn
Karwa Chauth 2026 falls on 28 October across the United States and Canada and on 29 October in India and Britain, and Britain's and America's clocks change a week apart around it. A diaspora family copying India's date and time gets one or both wrong. Kalava computes every festival for the town itself. The explainer and the table.
