Sade sati, dated by the engine
Shani's seven and a half years over the Moon's sign: the three phases as published tables print them, and both dhaiyas, for any rashi or from a birth. Shani takes about thirty years to go round, so most lives meet it two or three times.
Or from a birth:
Worked out in your browser. The birth you type is not sent to Kalava or anyone else, and nothing is stored.
What it is
Shani crossing the sign before the Moon's, the Moon's own, and the sign after: about two and a half years each.
What families do
Families keep Shani's Saturday through these years: an oil diya, sesame, black cloth.
Three blocks that meet
A retrograde carries Shani back over a sign line and forward again; the phases are dated from the first entry into each sign, so they meet end to end, as printed tables show them.
