ambe tū hai jagadambe kālī, jaya durge khappara vālī.
O Ambe, You are Jagdamba, You are Kali. Glory to You, O Durga Maa, who bears the khappar.
tere hī guṇa gāem̐ bhāratī, o maiyā hama saba utāreṁ terī āratī.
O Bharati, it is Your glories alone that we sing. O Maiya, we all offer Your aarti.
tere bhakta janoṁ para mātā, bhīra paḍī hai bhārī.
O Mata, a heavy affliction has fallen upon Your bhaktas.
dānava dala para ṭūṭa paḍo mām̐, karake siṁha savārī.
O Maa, ride forth on Your lion and fall upon the hosts of the danavas.
sau-sau siṁhoṁ se tū balaśālī, dasa bhujāoṁ vālī.
You are mightier than a hundred lions, O Maa of the ten arms.
dukhiyoṁ ke dukhaḍe nivāratī, o maiyā hama saba utāreṁ terī āratī.
You take away the sorrows of the sorrowing. O Maiya, we all offer Your aarti.
mām̐ beṭe kā hai isa jaga meṁ, baḍā hī nirmala nātā.
In this world the bond between a mother and her child is the purest there is.
pūta kapūta sune haiṁ para na, mātā sunī kumātā.
A son, it is said, may prove unworthy; but no one has ever heard of an unworthy mother.
saba para karuṇā darasāne vālī, amr̥ta barasāne vālī.
You show compassion to all; You rain down amrit.
dukhiyoṁ ke dukhaḍe nivāratī, o maiyā hama saba utāreṁ terī āratī.
You take away the sorrows of the sorrowing. O Maiya, we all offer Your aarti.
nahīṁ māṁgate dhana aura daulata, na cām̐dī na sonā.
We do not ask for money or riches, not silver and not gold.
hama to māṁge mām̐ tere mana meṁ, eka choṭā sā konā.
All we ask of You, Maa, is one small corner in Your heart.
sabakī bigaḍī banāne vālī, lāja bacāne vālī.
You set right what has gone wrong for everyone; You guard our honour.
satiyoṁ ke sata ko sam̐vāratī, o maiyā hama saba utāreṁ terī āratī.
You uphold the virtue of the virtuous. O Maiya, we all offer Your aarti.
