Vishnu ji

Vishnu ji

The preserver; Ekadashi is his

jagaddhātri namastubhyaṁ viṣṇośca priyavallabhe.

O Mother who sustains the world, beloved of Vishnu ji, I bow to You,

yato brahmādayo devāḥ sr̥ṣṭisthityantakāriṇaḥ.

by whose grace Brahma ji and the devas create, sustain and end the world.

namastulasi kalyāṇi namo viṣṇupriye śubhe.

I bow to You, Tulsi, who bring every good; I bow to You, dear to Vishnu ji, O blessed one;

namo mokṣaprade devi namaḥ sampatpradāyike.

I bow to You, Devi who gives moksha; I bow to You who give prosperity.

tulasī pātu māṁ nityaṁ sarvāpadbhyo'pi sarvadā.

May Tulsi Maa protect me always, from every misfortune, at every time;

kīrtitāpi smr̥tā vāpi pavitrayati mānavam.

praised aloud, or only remembered, She makes a person pure.

namāmi śirasā devīṁ tulasīṁ vilasattanum.

With my head bowed I salute Devi Tulsi, radiant in form,

yāṁ dr̥ṣṭvā pāpino martyā mucyante sarvakilbiṣāt.

at whose sight those who have done wrong are freed from every fault.

tulasyā rakṣitaṁ sarvaṁ jagadetaccarācaram.

By Tulsi this whole world, all that moves and all that is still, is kept safe;

yā vinihanti pāpāni dr̥ṣṭvā vā pāpibhirnaraiḥ.

She destroys wrongdoing, merely by being seen by those who have done wrong.

namastulasyatitarāṁ yasyai baddhvāñjaliṁ kalau.

I bow deeply to Tulsi, to whom, folding their hands in the Kali age,

kalayanti sukhaṁ sarvaṁ striyo vaiśyāstathāpare.

women, traders and all others find every happiness.

tulasyā nāparaṁ kiñciddaivataṁ jagatītale.

On the face of the earth there is no deity beside Tulsi

yathā pavitrito loko viṣṇusaṅgena vaiṣṇavaḥ.

by whom the world is made pure, as one is made pure by keeping Vishnu ji's company.

tulasyāḥ pallavaṁ viṣṇoḥ śirasyāropitaṁ kalau.

A tulsi leaf set upon Vishnu ji's head in the Kali age

āropayati sarvāṇi śreyāṁsi varamastake.

sets every blessing upon the head of the one who offers it.

tulasyāṁ sakalā devā vasanti satataṁ yataḥ.

Since all the devas dwell in Tulsi always,

atastāmarcayelloke sarvāndevānsamarcayan.

whoever offers puja to Her in this world offers it to all the devas.

namastulasi sarvajñe puruṣottamavallabhe.

I bow to You, Tulsi, who know all, beloved of Purushottam;

pāhi māṁ sarvapāpebhyaḥ sarvasampatpradāyike.

keep me from every wrong, You who give all prosperity.

iti stotraṁ purā gītaṁ puṇḍarīkeṇa dhīmatā.

This stotra was sung long ago by the wise Pundarika

viṣṇumarcayatā nityaṁ śobhanaistulasīdalaiḥ.

as he offered puja to Vishnu ji each day with beautiful tulsi leaves.

tulasī śrīrmahālakṣmīrvidyāvidyā yaśasvinī.

Tulsi, Shri, Mahalakshmi, Vidya, Avidya, Yashasvini,

dharmyā dharmānanā devī devīdevamanaḥpriyā.

Dharmya, Dharmanana, Devi, Devidevamanahpriya,

lakṣmīpriyasakhī devī dyaurbhūmiracalā calā.

Lakshmipriyasakhi, Devi, Dyau, Bhumi, Achala and Chala:

ṣoḍaśaitāni nāmāni tulasyāḥ kīrtayannaraḥ.

whoever says these sixteen names of Tulsi

labhate sutarāṁ bhaktimante viṣṇupadaṁ labhet.

gains deep devotion, and at the end reaches Vishnu ji's abode.

tulasī bhūrmahālakṣmīḥ padminī śrīrharipriyā.

Tulsi is the earth, Mahalakshmi, Padmini, Shri, the beloved of Hari.

tulasi śrīsakhi śubhe pāpahāriṇi puṇyade.

O Tulsi, friend of Lakshmi Maa, blessed one, who take wrong away and give merit,

namaste nāradanute nārāyaṇamanaḥpriye.

I bow to You, whom Narad ji praises, dear to Narayan's own heart.
