praṇamya śirasā devaṁ gaurīputraṁ vināyakam.
Bowing my head to Vinayaka, the god who is Gauri's son,
bhaktāvāsaṁ smarennityamāyuḥkāmārthasiddhaye.
who dwells among his devotees, remember him daily, for long life, for every wish and for prosperity.
prathamaṁ vakratuṇḍaṁ ca ekadantaṁ dvitīyakam.
First, Vakratunda, of the curved trunk; second, Ekadanta, of the single tusk;
tr̥tīyaṁ kr̥ṣṇapiṅgākṣaṁ gajavaktraṁ caturthakam.
third, Krishnapingaksha, of the dark and tawny eyes; fourth, Gajavaktra, the elephant-faced;
lambodaraṁ pañcamaṁ ca ṣaṣṭhaṁ vikaṭameva ca.
fifth, Lambodara, of the great belly; sixth, Vikata, the mighty;
saptamaṁ vighnarājaṁ ca dhūmravarṇaṁ tathāṣṭamam.
seventh, Vighnaraja, sovereign over all obstacles; eighth, Dhumravarna, the smoke-hued;
navamaṁ bhālacandraṁ ca daśamaṁ tu vināyakam.
ninth, Bhalachandra, the moon upon his brow; tenth, Vinayaka;
ekādaśaṁ gaṇapatiṁ dvādaśaṁ tu gajānanam.
eleventh, Ganapati; and twelfth, Gajanana.
dvādaśaitāni nāmāni trisandhyaṁ yaḥ paṭhennaraḥ.
Whoever reads these twelve names at the three sandhyas of the day
na ca vighnabhayaṁ tasya sarvasiddhikaraṁ prabho.
knows no fear of obstacles; O master, they bring every success.
vidyārthī labhate vidyāṁ dhanārthī labhate dhanam.
The seeker of learning gains learning; the seeker of wealth gains wealth;
putrārthī labhate putrān mokṣārthī labhate gatim.
one who longs for children is blessed with children; one who seeks liberation attains it.
japedgaṇapatistotraṁ ṣaḍbhirmāsaiḥ phalaṁ labhet.
Say this stotra of Ganapati, and within six months its fruit is gained;
saṁvatsareṇa siddhiṁ ca labhate nātra saṁśayaḥ.
within a year, fulfilment — of this there is no doubt.
aṣṭabhyo brāhmaṇebhyaśca likhitvā yaḥ samarpayet.
Whoever writes it out and offers it to eight learned brahmins
tasya vidyā bhavetsarvā gaṇeśasya prasādataḥ.
gains all learning, by the grace of Ganesha.
