Mangal (Mars)
Mangal is your courage and your drive — the commander of the kundali. It rules brothers, land and property, energy, competition and the skill of the hands. Strong, it makes you the one who takes charge and gets things built; troubled, it shows as haste, temper and quarrels.

Strong
A strong Mangal — in the 10th house where it has dik bala, exalted in Capricorn, or in its own Aries or Scorpio — gives courage, stamina and a gift for organising and carrying things through: you pioneer, lead from the front, win against opposition and stand by your friends at any cost. Land, property and your brothers support you. Its results ripen from about 28 to 32.
Weak
An afflicted Mangal — debilitated in Cancer, or in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th without a benefic's help — shows as a quick temper, rash decisions, quarrels with brothers or over land, and force before argument; GP warns that Mangal's anger ends badly where Shani's hardship ends well. The areas to care for are the blood and blood pressure, cuts, burns and injuries; see a doctor for anything persistent. Drive and handle tools with extra care, keep Tuesdays for Hanuman ji, and give toor dal and red cloth.
