One of the nine
Chandra (Moon)
Chandra is your mind (manas) — your moods, your sleep, your mother and the comfort of home. It is the quickest graha, changing rashi every two and a quarter days, so it shows how you react, what you need to feel safe, and how the public around you answers you. A waxing Chandra is gentle and generous; a waning one is restless and asks to be looked after.

Strong
A strong Chandra — bright (Shukla Ekadashi to Krishna Panchami is its best stretch), in the 4th house where it has dik bala, exalted in Taurus, in its own Cancer, or in a night birth — gives a calm, kind and sociable mind, a caring mother, comfort at home and a pleasant face. People trust you, the public warms to you, and you travel and come home well. Its promise shows from about 24 to 26.
Weak
A weak Chandra — waning, debilitated in Scorpio, with no graha on either side of it, joined by Rahu or Ketu, or in the 6th, 8th or 12th — makes the mind waver: moods rise and fall, sleep is light and decisions change. The areas to care for are sleep, the chest and lungs, the stomach and the body's fluids; see a doctor for anything persistent. Keep Mondays for Shiv ji, look after your mother, and give rice, milk or white cloth.
