O Durga, without You this worldly life is hard beyond bearing.
અનાથનાથે અંબે કરુણા વિસ્તારી॥
O Amba, refuge of those who have no one, spread Your compassion over us.
વારી વારીં જન્મમરણાતે વારી।
Ward off, ward off, ward off the round of birth and death.
હારી પડલો આતા સંકટ નીવારી॥
I am beaten and fallen; now take my trouble away.
જય દેવી જય દેવી જય મહિષાસુરમથની।
Victory to You, O Devi, victory to You — victory to You who crushed Mahishasur.
સુરવરઈશ્વરવરદે તારક સંજીવની॥
You grant boons to the great devas and to Ishvara; You carry us across, You give life anew.
ત્રિભુવની ભુવની પાહતા તુજ ઐસી નાહી।
Search all the three worlds, and there is none like You.
ચારી શ્રમલે પરંતુ ન બોલવે કાહી।
The four Vedas grew weary, and still could not put You into words.
સાહી વિવાદ કરિતાં પડિલે પ્રવાહી।
The six schools of thought, arguing, were swept away in the stream.
તે તૂં ભક્તાલાગી પાવસિ લવલાહી॥
Yet You, that same Devi, come swiftly to Your bhakta.

પ્રસન્નવદને પ્રસન્ન હોસી નિજદાસાં।
O You of the smiling face, You are pleased with those who are Your own.
ક્લેશાપાસૂનિ સોડી તોડી ભવપાશા॥
You free them from their suffering and cut the noose of this worldly life.
અંબે તુજવાચૂન કોણ પુરવિલ આશા।
O Amba, who but You will fulfil our hopes?
નરહરિ તલ્લીન ઝાલા પદપંકજલેશા॥
Narahari is lost in even a trace of Your lotus feet.
