jaya deva jagannātha jaya śaṅkara śāśvata .
Victory to you, O Dev, lord of the world; victory to you, Shankar, the eternal;
jaya sarvasurādhyakṣa jaya sarvasurārcita .
victory to you, head of all the Devas; victory to you, to whom every Deva offers puja.
jaya sarvaguṇātīta jaya sarvavaraprada .
Victory to you, beyond every quality; victory to you, giver of every boon;
jaya nitya nirādhāra jaya viśvambharāvyaya .
victory to you, eternal, resting on nothing; victory to you, who hold up the world and never wane.
jaya viśvaikavedyeśa jaya nāgendrabhūṣaṇa .
Victory to you, the one to be known in all the world; victory to you, who wear the king of serpents;
jaya gaurīpate śambho jaya candrārdhaśekhara .
victory to you, Shambhu, husband of Gauri; victory to you, with the half moon in your hair.
jaya koṭyarkasaṅkāśa jayānantaguṇāśraya .
Victory to you, bright as ten million suns; victory to you, home of endless good;
jaya rudra virūpākṣa jayācintya nirañjana .
victory to you, Rudra of the three eyes; victory to you, beyond thought, without stain.
jaya nātha kr̥pāsindho jaya bhaktārtibhañjana .
Victory to you, O Nath, ocean of mercy; victory to you, who break the pain of those who turn to you;
jaya dustarasaṁsārasāgarottāraṇa prabho .
victory to you, Prabhu, who carry us over the sea of this world that cannot be crossed.
prasīda me mahādeva saṁsārārtasya khidyataḥ .
Be pleased with me, Mahadev: I am worn and weary with this world.
sarvapāpabhayaṁ hr̥tvā rakṣa māṁ parameśvara .
Take away all the fear my wrongs have brought, and protect me, Parameshwar.
mahādāridryamagnasya mahāpāpahatasya ca .
I am sunk in deep poverty and struck by great wrongs,
mahāśokavinaṣṭasya mahārogāturasya ca .
undone by great grief and sick with great illness,
r̥ṇabhāraparītasya dahyamānasya karmabhiḥ .
weighed down by debt and burned by what I have done,
grahaiḥ prapīḍyamānasya prasīda mama śaṅkara .
pressed hard by the planets — be pleased with me, Shankar.
daridraḥ prārthayedevaṁ pūjānte girijāpatim .
So, at the end of the puja, let the poor pray to the husband of Girija;
arthāḍhyo vāpi rājā vā prārthayeddevamīśvaram .
and let the rich man, or even a king, pray to the Dev, the Ishwar.
dīrghamāyuḥ sadārogyaṁ kośavr̥ddhirbalonnatiḥ .
"Long life, health always, a growing store, rising strength —
mamāstu nityamānandaḥ prasādāttava śaṅkara .
and joy always, may these be mine by your grace, Shankar.
śatravaḥ saṁkṣayaṁ yāntu prasīdantu mama grahāḥ .
May my enemies come to nothing, and may the grahas be kind to me;
naśyantu dasyavo rāṣṭre janāḥ santu nirāpadaḥ .
may the robbers in the land be gone, and may the people be free of harm.
durbhikṣamārīsantāpāḥ śamaṁ yāntu mahītale .
May famine, plague and suffering be stilled on the earth;
sarvasasyasamr̥ddhiśca bhūyātsukhamayā diśaḥ .
may every crop be plentiful, and every direction full of ease."
evamārādhayeddevaṁ pradoṣe girijāpatim .
So let one worship the Dev, the husband of Girija, at pradosh;
brāhmaṇānbhojayetpaścāddakṣiṇābhiśca toṣayet .
then feed brahmins, and please them with dakshina.
sarvapāpakṣayakarī sarvadāridryanāśinī .
It wipes away every sin and ends every kind of poverty —
śivapūjā mayākhyātā sarvābhīṣṭavarapradā .
this is the puja of Shiv ji I have told you, which grants every wish.
