pahale saaeen ke charanon men, apanaa sheesh navaaoon main. kaise shirdee saaeen aae, saaraa haal sunaaoon main.
First I bow my head at the feet of Sai, and then I narrate the entire account of how Sai arrived in Shirdi.
kaun hain maataa, pitaa kaun hain, yah n kisee ne bhee jaanaa. kahaan janam saaeen ne dhaaraa, prashn pahelee rahaa banaa.
No one ever came to know who his mother and father were, and where Sai took birth remains an unsolved riddle.
koee kahe ayodhyaa ke ye, raamachandr bhagavaan hain. koee kahataa saaeen baabaa, pavan putr hanumaan hain.
Some say he is Ram ji of Ayodhya, while others say Sai Baba is Hanuman, the son of the wind.
koee kahataa mangal moorti, shree gajaanan hain saaeen. koee kahataa gokul mohan, devakee nandan hain saaeen.
Some say Sai is the auspicious Ganesh ji, while others say Sai is the charmer of Gokul and son of Devaki, Krishna ji.
shankar samajh bhakt kaee to, baabaa ko bhajate rahate. koee kah avataar datt kaa, poojaa saaeen kee karate.
Many who keep him offer puja to Baba regarding him as Shiv ji, while others offer puja to Sai as an incarnation of Dattatreya.
kuchh bhee maano unako tum, par saaeen hain sachche bhagavaan. bade dayaalu deenabandhu, kitanon ko diyaa jeevan daan.
Whatever you may consider him to be, Sai is truly God, an immensely compassionate friend of the humble who granted the gift of life to many.
kaee varsh pahale kee ghatanaa, tumhen sunaaoongaa main baat. kisee bhaagyashaalee kee, shirdee men aaee thee baaraat.
I shall tell you of an event from many years ago, when a fortunate person's wedding procession arrived in Shirdi.
aayaa saath usee ke thaa, baalak ek bahut sundar. aayaa, aakar vaheen bas gayaa, paavan shirdee kiyaa nagar.
Accompanying that procession was an exceedingly handsome youth, who arrived, settled there permanently, and sanctified the town of Shirdi.
kaee dinon tak rahaa bhatakataa, bhikshaa maangee usane dar-dar. aur dikhaaee aisee leelaa, jag men jo ho gaee amar.
For many days he wandered begging alms from door to door, displaying divine deeds that became immortal in the world.
jaise-jaise umar badhee, vaise hee badhatee gaee shaan. ghar-ghar hone lagaa nagar men, saaeen baabaa kaa gunagaan.
As his years advanced, his glory grew accordingly, and songs of Sai Baba's praise began to resound in every home throughout the town.
dig-digant men lagaa goonjane, phir to saaeenjee kaa naam. deen-dukhee kee rakshaa karanaa, yahee rahaa baabaa kaa kaam.
Soon the name of Sai Baba echoed in every direction of the horizon, and protecting the poor and distressed remained Baba's lifelong duty.
baabaa ke charanon men jaakar, jo kahataa main hoon nirdhan. dayaa usee par hotee unakee, khul jaate du:kh ke bandhan.
Whoever went to Baba's feet pleading poverty received his grace, and the shackles of their sorrow were dissolved.
kabhee kisee ne maangee bhikshaa, do baabaa mujhako santaan. evamastu tab kahakar saaeen, dete the usako varadaan.
Whenever anyone begged him for the blessing of a child, Sai would say "So be it" and grant them that boon.
svayan dukhee baabaa ho jaate, deen-dukhee jan kaa lakh haal. ant:karan shree saaeen kaa, saagar jaisaa rahaa vishaal.
Baba would himself become sorrowful on beholding the misery of the distressed, for Sai's inner heart was as vast as the ocean.
bhakt ek madraasee aayaa, ghar kaa bahut badaa dhanavaan. maal khajaanaa behad usakaa, keval naheen rahee santaan.
A man from Madras arrived who was immensely wealthy, possessing boundless treasures but lacking an heir.
lagaa manaane saaeen naath ko, baabaa mujh par dayaa karo. jhanjhaa se jhankrit naiyaa ko, tum hee meree paar karo.
He began imploring Sainath to have mercy on him and steer his storm-tossed boat safely across the waters.
kuladeepak ke binaa andheraa, chhaayaa huaa hai ghar men mere. isalie aayaa hoon baabaa, hokar sharanaagat tere.
He prayed that darkness reigned over his home without a lineage diya, which is why he had come to surrender at Baba's feet.
kuladeepak ke abhaav men, vyarth hai daulat kee maayaa. aaj bhikhaaree ban kar baabaa, sharan tumhaaree main aayaa.
Without an heir to continue the lineage, all material wealth is useless, so he approached Baba as a beggar seeking refuge.
de do mujhako putr daan, main rinee rahoongaa jeevan bhar. aur kisee kee aas n mujhako, sirph bharosaa hai tum par.
He begged Baba for the gift of a son and promised lifelong gratitude, placing all his faith and reliance solely in him.
anunay-vinay bahut kee usane, charanon men dhar ke sheesh. tab prasann hokar baabaa ne, diyaa bhakt ko yah aasheesh.
He pleaded profusely with his head placed at Baba's feet, whereupon Baba was pleased and bestowed his blessing upon the man.
'allaa bhalaa karegaa teraa' putr janm ho tere ghar. kripaa rahegee tujh par usakee, aur tere us baalak par.
Proclaiming "Allah will bless you," Baba decreed that a son would be born in his home and divine favour would protect both father and child.
ab tak naheen kisee ne paayaa, saaeen kee kripaa kaa paar. putr ratn de madraasee ko, dhany kiyaa usakaa sansaar.
No one has ever found the outer limits of Sai's grace, for he blessed him with a jewel of a son and enriched his world.
tan-man se jo bhaje usee kaa, jag men hotaa hai uddhaar. saanch ko aanch naheen hai koee, sadaa jhooth kee hotee haar.
Whoever offers puja to him with body and mind achieves liberation in this world, for truth faces no trial and falsehood always suffers defeat.
main hoon sadaa sahaare usake, sadaa rahoongaa usakaa daas. saaeen jaisaa prabhu milaa hai, itanee hee kam hai kyaa aas.
I always rely on his support and will forever remain his servant, for having found one like Sai, no greater aspiration is needed.
meraa bhee din thaa ik aisaa, milatee naheen mujhe thee rotee. tan par kapadaa door rahaa thaa, shesh rahee nanheen see langotee.
There was once a time in my life when I could not even obtain bread, fine clothes were out of reach, and only a small loincloth remained.
saritaa sanmukh hone par bhee, main pyaasaa kaa pyaasaa thaa. durdin meraa mere oopar, daavaagni barasaataa thaa.
Even with a river flowing right before me, I remained thoroughly thirsty, while my days of misfortune rained wild fire upon me.
dharatee ke atirikt jagat men, meraa kuchh avalanban n thaa. banaa bhikhaaree main duniyaa men, dar-dar thokar khaataa thaa.
Apart from the bare earth, I had no support whatsoever in this world, wandering as a beggar and stumbling from door to door.
aise men ik mitr milaa jo, param bhakt saaeen kaa thaa. janjaalon se mukt magar, jagatee men vah bhee mujhasaa thaa.
In that plight, I met a friend who was a close follower of Sai, free from worldly entanglements yet living in the world like me.
baabaa ke darshan kee khaatir, mil donon ne kiyaa vichaar. saaeen jaise dayaa moorti ke, darshan ko ho gae taiyaar.
Together we discussed going for Baba's darshan, and prepared to visit that supreme embodiment of compassion.
paavan shirdee nagar men jaakar, dekh matavaalee moorati. dhany janm ho gayaa ki hamane, jab dekhee saaeen kee soorati.
Reaching the sacred town of Shirdi and gazing upon his enchanting murti, our lives were sanctified the moment we beheld Sai's countenance.
jab se kie hain darshan hamane, du:kh saaraa kaaphoor ho gayaa. sankat saare mite aur, vipadaaon kaa ant ho gayaa.
Ever since we beheld him, all our sorrow vanished completely, every trouble was erased, and all afflictions came to an end.
maan aur sammaan milaa, bhikshaa men hamako baabaa se. pratibimbit ho uthe jagat men, ham saaeen kee aabhaa se.
We received honour and self-respect as alms from Baba, and we began to shine in the world through the reflection of Sai's divine radiance.
baabaa ne sammaan diyaa hai, maan diyaa is jeevan men. isakaa hee sambal le main, hansataa jaaoongaa jeevan men.
Baba gave me dignity and worth in this life, and drawing support from this alone, I shall journey through life with a smile.
saaeen kee leelaa kaa mere, man par aisaa asar huaa. lagataa jagatee ke kan-kan men, jaise ho vah bharaa huaa.
Sai's leela has so touched my mind that he seems to fill every particle of the world.
kaasheeraam bhakt baabaa kaa, is shirdee men rahataa thaa. main saaeen kaa, saaeen meraa, vah duniyaa se kahataa thaa.
A man named Kashiram lived in Shirdi, who declared openly to the whole world, "I belong to Sai, and Sai belongs to me".
seenkar svayan vastr bechataa, graam-nagar baajaaron men. jhankrit usakee hriday tantree thee, saaeen kee jhankaaron se.
He stitched and sold garments himself across village and town markets, while the strings of his heart vibrated with the melody of Sai.
stabdh nishaa thee, the soye, rajanee anchal men chaand sitaare. naheen soojhataa rahaa haath ko, haath timir ke maare.
It was a quiet night where the moon and stars lay asleep in night's lap, and one could not even see one's own hand through the dense darkness.
vastr bechakar laut rahaa thaa, haay! haat se kaashee. vichitr badaa sanyog ki us din, aataa thaa ekaakee.
Alas, Kashiram was returning home from the market after selling clothes, and by strange coincidence he was traveling all alone that day.
gher raah men khade ho gae, use kutil anyaayee. maaro kaato looto isakee hee, dhvani padee sunaaee.
Cruel and wicked bandits intercepted his path, shouting violent threats to strike, kill, and rob him.
loot-peetakar use vahaan se, kutil gae chanpat ho. aaghaaton men marmaahat ho, usane dee sanjnaa kho.
Having beaten and plundered him, the scoundrels fled the spot, while Kashiram collapsed and lost consciousness from his severe wounds.
bahut der tak padaa rahaa vah, vaheen usee haalat men. jaane kab kuchh hosh ho uthaa, usako kisee palak men.
He lay abandoned in that condition for a long time, until consciousness faintly returned to him in a passing moment.
anajaane hee usake munh se, nikal padaa thaa saaeen. jisakee pratidhvani shirdee men, baabaa ko padee sunaaee.
Spontaneously, the name "Sai" broke from his lips, and its distant echo reached Baba's ears in Shirdi.
kshubdh ho uthaa maanas unakaa, baabaa gae vikal ho. lagataa jaise ghatanaa saaree, ghatee unheen ke sanmukh ho.
Baba's mind became turbulent and he grew restless with distress, as though the entire tragedy was unfolding directly before his eyes.
unmaadee se idhar-udhar tab, baabaa lage bhatakane. sammukh cheejen jo bhee aaeen, unako lage patakane.
Baba then began pacing frantically back and forth like one possessed, hurling to the ground whatever objects came before him.
aur dhadhakate angaaron men, baabaa ne apanaa kar daalaa. hue sashankit sabhee vahaan, dekh taandav nrity niraalaa.
And Baba thrust his own hand into the blazing coals; everyone there was alarmed to see that strange, fierce dance.
samajh gae sab log ki koee, bhakt padaa sankat men. kshubhit khade the sabhee vahaan par, pade hue vismay men.
Everyone understood that some bhakt had fallen into danger; they all stood there shaken, lost in wonder.
use bachaane kee hee khaatir, baabaa aaj vikal hain. usakee hee peedaa se peedit, unakaa antahsthal hai.
It was to save him that Baba was so restless that day; his innermost heart was suffering that bhakt's pain.
itane men hee vidhi ne apanee, vichitrataa dikhalaaee. lakh kar jisako janataa kee, shraddhaa saritaa laharaaee.
Just then fate showed its wonder, and seeing it the people's faith rose like a river in flood.
lekar sanjnaaheen bhakt ko, gaadee ek vahaan aaee. sanmukh apane dekh bhakt ko, saaeen kee aankhen bhar aaee.
A cart arrived there carrying the unconscious bhakt; seeing him before him, Sai's eyes filled with tears.
shaant, dheer, ganbheer, sindhu saa, baabaa kaa antahsthal. aaj n jaane kyon rah-rahakar, ho jaataa thaa chanchal.
Baba's heart, calm, steady and deep as the ocean, was that day somehow stirred again and again.
aaj dayaa kee moorti svayan thaa, banaa huaa upachaaree. aur bhakt ke lie aaj thaa, dev banaa pratihaaree.
That day compassion itself had become the healer, and for the sake of his bhakt the divine had become his guard.
aaj bhakti kee visham pareekshaa men, saphal huaa thaa kaashee. usake hee darshan kee khaatir, umade the nagar-nivaasee.
That day Kashi had passed the hard test of bhakti, and the townspeople crowded in just to see him.
jab bhee aur jahaan bhee koee, bhakt pade sankat men. usakee rakshaa karane baabaa, aate hain pal bhar men.
Whenever and wherever a bhakt falls into trouble, Baba comes in a moment to protect him.
yug-yug kaa hai saty yahee, naheen koee naee kahaanee. aapadgrast bhakt jab hotaa, jaate khud antaryaamee.
This is the truth of every age, no new story: when a bhakt is in distress, the one who knows every heart goes to him himself.
bhed-bhaav se pare pujaaree, maanavataa ke the saaeen. jitane pyaare hindoo-muslim, utane hee the sikkh-eesaaee.
Sai was a worshipper of humanity, beyond all division; Sikhs and Christians were as dear to him as Hindus and Muslims.
bhed-bhaav, mandir-masjid kaa, tod-phod baabaa ne daalaa. raam raheem sabhee unake the, krishn, kareem allaataalaa.
Baba broke down the walls between mandir and masjid; Ram and Rahim were all his, Krishna, Karim and Allah alike.
ghante kee pratidhvani se goonjaa, masjid kaa konaa-konaa. mile paraspar hindoo-muslim, pyaar badhaa din-din doonaa.
Every corner of the masjid rang with the echo of the temple bell; Hindus and Muslims came together, and their love grew twofold each day.
chamatkaar thaa kitanaa sundar, parichay is kaayaa ne dee. aur neem kee kadavaahat men bhee, mithaas baabaa ne bhar dee.
How beautiful the miracle that body showed: Baba filled even the bitterness of the neem with sweetness.
sab ko sneh diyaa saaeen ne, sabako santul pyaar kiyaa. jo kuchh jisane bhee chaahaa, baabaa ne usako vahee diyaa.
Sai gave affection to all and loved everyone equally; whatever anyone wanted, Baba gave them just that.
aise sneh sheel bhaajan kaa, naam sadaa jo japaa kare. parvat jaisaa duhkh kyon n ho, palabhar men vah door kare.
Whoever keeps repeating the name of one so full of love and goodness, even a sorrow as big as a mountain, he removes in a moment.
saaeen jaisaa daataa hamane, are! naheen dekhaa koee. jisake keval darshan se hee, saaree vipadaa door gaee.
We have never seen a giver like Sai, whose darshan alone sends every trouble away.
tan men saaeen, man men saaeen, saaeen-saaeen bhajaa karo. apane tan kee sudhi-budhi khokar, sudhi usakee tum kiyaa karo.
Sai in the body, Sai in the mind — keep singing "Sai, Sai"; forget yourself and keep your thoughts on him.
jab too apanee sudhi taj, baabaa kee sudhi kiyaa karegaa. aur raat-din baabaa, baabaa, baabaa hee too rataa karegaa.
When you let go of thinking of yourself and think only of Baba, and day and night say nothing but "Baba, Baba, Baba",
to baabaa ko are! vivash ho, sudhi teree lenee hee hogee. teree har ichchhaa baabaa ko, pooree hee karanee hogee.
then Baba will have no choice but to look after you; he will have to fulfil your every wish.
jangal-jangal bhatak n paagal, aur dhoondhane baabaa ko. ek jagah keval shirdee men, too paayegaa baabaa ko.
Don't wander from forest to forest searching for Baba; in one place alone, in Shirdi, you will find him.
dhany jagat men praanee hai vah, jisane baabaa ko paayaa. duhkh men, sukh men prahar aath ho, saaeen kaa hee gun gaayaa.
Blessed in this world is the one who has found Baba, who in sorrow and in joy, all day and night, sings only Sai's praise.
giren sankaton ke parvat, chaahe bijalee hee toot pade. saaeen kaa le naam sadaa tum, sanmukh sab ke raho ade.
Even if mountains of trouble fall and lightning strikes, always take Sai's name and stand firm before them all.
is boodhe kee sun karaamaat, tum ho jaaoge hairaan. dang rah gaye sun kar jisako, jaane kitane chatur sujaan.
Hear the wonder this old man worked and you will be amazed; who knows how many clever, learned people were astonished to hear it.
ek baar shirdee men saadhu, dhongee thaa koee aayaa. bholee-bhaalee nagar-nivaasee, janataa ko thaa bharamaayaa.
Once a fraud dressed as a sadhu came to Shirdi and deceived the simple townspeople.
jadee-bootiyaan unhen dikhaa kar, karane lagaa vahaan bhaashan. kahane lagaa suno shrotaagan, ghar meraa hai vrindaavan.
Showing them his herbs, he began to make a speech there: "Listen, all of you — my home is Vrindavan."
aushadhi mere paas ek hai, aur ajab isamen shakti. isake sevan karane se hee, ho jaatee har duhkh se mukti.
"I have a medicine with a wondrous power; just by taking it you are freed from every pain.
agar mukt honaa chaaho tum, sankat se beemaaree se. to hai meraa namr nivedan, har nar se har naaree se.
If you want to be free of trouble and illness, then this is my humble request to every man and every woman:
lo khareed tum isako, isakee sevan vidhiyaan hain nyaaree. yadyapi tuchchh vastu hai yah, gun isake hain atishay bhaaree.
buy it, and its ways of taking are special; though it looks a small thing, its virtues are very great.
jo hain santati heen yahaan yadi, meree aushadhi ko khaayen. putr-ratn ho praapt, are vah munh maangaa phal paayen.
If anyone here without children takes my medicine, they will be blessed with a son and get whatever they ask for.
aushadhi meree jo n khareede, jeevan bhar pachhataayegaa. mujh jaisaa praanee shaayad hee, are yahaan aa paayegaa.
Whoever does not buy my medicine will regret it all their life; someone like me will hardly ever come here again.
duniyaa do din melaa hai, mauj shauk tum bhee kar lo. agar isase milataa hai sab kuchh, tum bhee isako le lo.
The world is a two-day fair, so enjoy yourselves too; if this gives you everything, then you take it as well."
hairaanee badhatee janataa kee, dekh isakee kaarastaanee. pramudit vah bhee man hee man thaa, dekh logon kee naadaanee.
The people grew ever more amazed at his tricks, and he was secretly pleased to see how gullible they were.
khabar sunaane baabaa ko yah, gayaa daudakar sevak ek. sunakar bhrikutee tanee aur, vismaran ho gayaa sabhee vivek.
A sevak ran to tell Baba the news; hearing it, Baba's brow knotted, and he was overcome with anger.
hukm diyaa sevak ko, satvar pakad dusht ko laao. yaa shirdee kee seemaa se, kapatee ko door bhagaao.
He ordered the sevak: "Seize that wicked man and bring him here at once, or drive the cheat far out of Shirdi.
mere rahate bholee-bhaalee, shirdee kee janataa ko. kaun neech aisaa jo, saahas karataa hai chhalane ko.
Who is so low as to dare to cheat the simple people of Shirdi while I am here?
palabhar men aise dhongee, kapatee, neech, lutere ko. mahaanaash ke mahaagart men, pahunchaa doon jeevan bhar ko.
In a moment I could send such a fraud, cheat, scoundrel and thief into the pit of ruin for the rest of his life."
tanik milaa aabhaas madaaree, kroor, kutil, anyaayee ko. kaal naachataa hai ab sir par, gussaa aayaa saaeen ko.
The cruel, crooked trickster got a hint of it — that death now danced over his head, that Sai was angry.
palabhar men sab khel band kar, bhaagaa sir par rakhakar pair. soch rahaa thaa man hee man, bhagavaan naheen hai kyaa ab khair.
In a moment he shut down his whole show and ran for his life, thinking to himself, "God, is there any escape for me now?"
sach hai saaeen jaisaa daanee, mil n sakegaa jag men. ansh eesh kaa saaeen baabaa, unhen n kuchh bhee mushkil jag men.
It is true: a giver like Sai cannot be found in the world. Sai Baba is a part of God; nothing in the world is hard for him.
sneh, sheel, saujany aadi kaa, aabhooshan dhaaran kar. badhataa is duniyaa men jo bhee, maanav-sevaa ke path par.
Whoever in this world wears the jewels of love, goodness and kindness, and walks the path of serving people,
vahee jeet letaa hai jagatee ke, jan-jan kaa antahsthal. usakee ek udaasee hee jag, ko kar detee hai vihval.
wins the heart of every person in the world; a single sorrow of his moves the whole world.
jab-jab jag men bhaar paap kaa, badhataa hee jaataa hai. use mitaane ke hee khaatir, avataaree hee aataa hai.
Whenever the weight of sin keeps growing in the world, an avatar comes to wipe it away.
paap aur anyaay sabhee kuchh, is jagatee kaa har ke. door bhagaa detaa duniyaa ke, daanav ko kshan bhar men.
Taking away all the sin and injustice of this world, he drives off the world's asura in an instant.
sneh sudhaa kee dhaar barasane, lagatee hai is duniyaa men. gale paraspar milane lagate, hain jan-jan aapas men.
A stream of loving nectar begins to rain on this world, and people begin to embrace one another.
aise hee avataaree saaeen, mrityu lok men aakar. samataa kaa paath padhaayaa, sabakaa apanaa aap mitaakar.
So Sai came as an avatar into this mortal world and, setting aside every self, taught everyone the lesson of equality.
naam dvaarakaa masjid kaa, rakkhaa shirdee men saaeen ne. daap, taap, santaap mitaayaa, jo kuchh aayaa saaeen ne.
In Shirdi Sai named the masjid Dwarka, and whoever came to him, Sai took away their pride, heat and suffering.
sadaa yaad men mast raam kee, baithe rahate the saaeen. pahar aath hee raam naam kaa, bhajate rahate the saaeen.
Sai would sit absorbed in the remembrance of Ram; all day and night Sai kept repeating Ram's name.
sookhee-rookhee, taajee-baasee, chaahe yaa hove pakavaan. sadaa pyaar ke bhookhe saaeen kee, khaatir the sabhee samaan.
Dry or plain, fresh or stale, or a fine dish — to Sai, who hungered only for love, all were the same.
sneh aur shraddhaa se apanee, jan jo kuchh de jaate the. bade chaav se us bhojan ko, baabaa paavan karate the.
Whatever people offered him with love and faith, Baba would eat with relish and make it holy.
kabhee-kabhee man bahalaane ko, baabaa baag men jaate the. pramudit man nirakh prakriti, chhataa ko ve hote the.
Sometimes Baba would go into the garden to refresh his mind, and his heart was glad watching the beauty of nature.
rang-birange pushp baag ke, mand-mand hil-dul karake. beehad veeraane man men bhee, sneh salil bhar jaate the.
The many-coloured flowers of the garden, swaying gently, filled even a barren, desolate heart with the water of love.
aisee sumadhur belaa men bhee, duhkh, aapad, vipadaa ke maare. apane man kee vyathaa sunaane, jan rahate baabaa ko ghere.
Even at such a sweet hour, people struck by sorrow, misfortune and trouble would crowd around Baba to tell him their pain.
sunakar jinakee karunaa kathaa ko, nayan kamal bhar aate the. de vibhooti har vyathaa, shaanti, unake ur men bhar dete the.
Hearing their sad stories his lotus eyes would fill with tears; giving them udi, he took away every pain and filled their hearts with peace.
jaane kyaa adbhut shakti, us vibhooti men hotee thee. jo dhaaran karate mastak par, duhkh saaraa har letee thee.
Who knows what wondrous power that udi held; for whoever put it on their forehead, it took away all their sorrow.
dhany manuj ve saakshaat darshan, jo baabaa saaeen ke paaye. dhany kamal kar unake jinase, charan-kamal ve parasaaye.
Blessed are those who saw Sai Baba face to face; blessed are the hands that touched his lotus feet.
kaash nirbhay tumako bhee, saakshaat saaeen mil jaataa. varshon se ujadaa chaman apanaa, phir se aaj khil jaataa.
If only, Nirbhay, you too could meet Sai face to face, your garden laid waste for years would bloom again today.
gar pakadataa main charan shree ke, naheen chhodataa umrabhar. manaa letaa main jaroor unako, gar roothate saaeen mujh par.
If I held his holy feet, I would not let go my whole life; and if Sai were ever displeased with me, I would surely win him round.
