The Devi of Navratri

Om. The devas brought forth Agni Dev, friend of all people: the crown of the sky, who travels over the earth, born for the yajna; the seer, the sovereign, the guest in every home, the mouth through which the devas receive what is offered. Svaha.

Om. O ladle, go forth full, and come back to us full once more. O Indra of the hundred deeds, let us exchange food and strength, as in a fair trade. Svaha.

Om. That is whole, this is whole; from the whole the whole comes forth. Take the whole from the whole, and the whole alone remains. Svaha.
