శివ ఉవాచ।
Shiv ji said:
శృణు దేవి ప్రవక్ష్యామి కుఞ్జికాస్తోత్రముత్తమమ్।
Listen, Devi: I shall tell You the Kunjika Stotram, the highest,
యేన మన్త్రప్రభావేణ చణ్డీజాపః శుభో భవేత్॥
by the power of whose mantra the reading of the Chandi bears its good fruit.
న కవచం నార్గలాస్తోత్రం కీలకం న రహస్యకమ్।
No Kavach, no Argala Stotram, no Kilaka, no Rahasya,
న సూక్తం నాపి ధ్యానం చ న న్యాసో న చ వార్చనమ్॥
no Suktam, no dhyana, no nyasa and no archana is needed:
కుఞ్జికాపాఠమాత్రేణ దుర్గాపాఠఫలం లభేత్।
by the reading of the Kunjika alone, the fruit of the whole Durga path is gained.
అతి గుహ్యతరం దేవి దేవానామపి దుర్లభమ్॥
It is most secret, Devi, and hard even for the gods to come by.
గోపనీయం ప్రయత్నేన స్వయోనిరివ పార్వతి।
Guard it with care, Parvati, as closely as Your own body.
మారణం మోహనం వశ్యం స్తమ్భనోచ్చాటనాదికమ్।
Marana, mohana, vashya, stambhana, uchchatana — the rites the tantras name —
పాఠమాత్రేణ సంసిద్ధ్యేత్ కుఞ్జికాస్తోత్రముత్తమమ్॥
all are accomplished by the mere reading of this highest Kunjika Stotram.
అథ మన్త్రః।
Now the mantra.
ఓం ఐం హ్రీం క్లీం చాముణ్డాయై విచ్చే।
Om aim hreem kleem chamundayai vichche — the Navarna mantra, to Chamunda.
ఓం గ్లౌం హుం క్లీం జూం సః జ్వాలయ జ్వాలయ జ్వల జ్వల ప్రజ్వల ప్రజ్వల
Om glaum hum kleem joom sah — kindle, kindle; blaze, blaze; blaze forth, blaze forth —
ఐం హ్రీం క్లీం చాముణ్డాయై విచ్చే జ్వల హం సం లం క్షం ఫట్ స్వాహా॥
aim hreem kleem chamundayai vichche; blaze — ham sam lam ksham phat svaha.
ఇతి మన్త్రః।
Here the mantra ends.
నమస్తే రుద్రరూపిణ్యై నమస్తే మధుమర్దిని।
I bow to You who take Rudra's form; I bow to You who crushed Madhu;
నమః కైటభహారిణ్యై నమస్తే మహిషార్దిని॥
I bow to Her who ended Kaitabha; I bow to You who crushed Mahisha.
నమస్తే శుమ్భహన్త్ర్యై చ నిశుమ్భాసురఘాతిని।
I bow to You who killed Shumbha, and struck down the asura Nishumbha.
జాగ్రతం హి మహాదేవి జపం సిద్ధం కురుష్వ మే॥
Great Devi, awaken my japa and make it bear fruit.
ఐంకారీ సృష్టిరూపాయై హ్రీంకారీ ప్రతిపాలికా।
As aim You are creation itself; as hreem You are She who sustains;
క్లీంకారీ కామరూపిణ్యై బీజరూపే నమోఽస్తు తే॥
as kleem You take whatever form You will — You who are the seed syllables, I bow to You.
చాముణ్డా చణ్డఘాతీ చ యైకారీ వరదాయినీ।
Chamunda, slayer of Chanda; as the syllable yai, the giver of boons;
విచ్చే చాభయదా నిత్యం నమస్తే మన్త్రరూపిణి॥
as vichche, ever the giver of fearlessness — I bow to You whose form is the mantra.
ధాం ధీం ధూం ధూర్జటేః పత్నీ వాం వీం వూం వాగధీశ్వరీ।
Dhaam dheem dhoom — wife of Dhurjati, Shiv ji; vaam veem voom — queen of speech;
క్రాం క్రీం క్రూం కాలికా దేవి శాం శీం శూం మే శుభం కురు॥
kraam kreem kroom — Kalika Devi; shaam sheem shoom — bring me what is good.
హుం హుం హుంకారరూపిణ్యై జం జం జం జమ్భనాదినీ।
hum hum — You whose form is the syllable hum; jam jam jam — Jambhanadini;
భ్రాం భ్రీం భ్రూం భైరవీ భద్రే భవాన్యై తే నమో నమః॥
bhraam bhreem bhroom — Bhairavi, the kind one; to You, Bhavani, I bow again and again.
అం కం చం టం తం పం యం శం వీం దుం ఐం వీం హం క్షం।
The seed syllables: am kam cham tam tam pam yam sham, veem dum aim veem ham ksham —
ధిజాగ్రం ధిజాగ్రం త్రోటయ త్రోటయ దీప్తం కురు కురు స్వాహా॥
dhijagram dhijagram — break through, break through; make it shine, make it shine, svaha.
పాం పీం పూం పార్వతీ పూర్ణా ఖాం ఖీం ఖూం ఖేచరీ తథా।
paam peem poom — Parvati, the whole; khaam kheem khoom — Khechari, who moves through the sky;
సాం సీం సూం సప్తశతీ దేవ్యా మన్త్రసిద్ధిం కురుష్వ మే॥
saam seem soom — make the Devi's Saptashati bear fruit for me as a mantra.
ఇదం తు కుఞ్జికాస్తోత్రం మన్త్రజాగర్తిహేతవే।
This Kunjika Stotram is for waking the mantra.
అభక్తే నైవ దాతవ్యం గోపితం రక్ష పార్వతి॥
It is not to be given to one without devotion; keep it guarded, Parvati.
యస్తు కుఞ్జికయా దేవి హీనాం సప్తశతీం పఠేత్।
Devi, whoever reads the Saptashati without the Kunjika
న తస్య జాయతే సిద్ధిరరణ్యే రోదనం యథా॥
gains nothing by it: it is like weeping in the forest.
