वन्दे वाञ्छितलाभाय चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखराम्।
vande vāñchitalābhāya candrārdhakr̥taśekharām.
For what my heart hopes for, I bow to Her who wears the half-moon on Her crown —
वृषारूढां शूलधरां शैलपुत्रीं यशस्विनीम्॥
vr̥ṣārūḍhāṁ śūladharāṁ śailaputrīṁ yaśasvinīm.
who rides the bull and holds the trident: Shailaputri, the glorious.
