1. The datun and the bath

   The vrat begins here, in the first hours after sunrise: the aghada datun, a twig at a time with its verse, then the bath and white clothes.

2. The puja · madhyahna

   12:10 PM – 2:24 PM

   Madhyahna, the middle of the day, while the Panchami holds: the lid set in the makhar as Lalita Devi, the offerings, the forty-eight durva, the naivedya and the vayan.

3. The arghya · after dark

   6:52 PM – 9:37 PM

   After dark, while the Moon is still in the sky: the arghya to the Devi, the katha and the day's one meal. On a Panchami the Moon sets a few hours after the Sun, so the arghya comes early in the night.

4. Visarjan · the next morning

   7:44 AMFriday, 16 October

   The next morning, after the bath: one more puja, the Devi's farewell and the udyapan.
