Mother Gayatri, who embodies the sacred seed syllables Hrim, Shrim, and Klim, is the supreme wisdom, radiant light of life, and the eternal wellspring of peace, transformation, spiritual awakening, progress, and unbroken creative power.

jagat janani mangal karani gaayatree sukhadhaam. pranavon saavitree svadhaa svaahaa pooran kaam.

I bow to Mother Gayatri, the benevolent mother of the universe and the dwelling of all joy, who manifests as Savitri, Svadha, and Svaha, fulfilling every righteous wish of her own.

United with the sacred Om and the three mystical realms Bhur, Bhuvah, and Svah, Mother Gayatri perpetually consumes and purifies the sins and impurities of the Kali age.

Her twenty-four syllables are supremely holy, containing within themselves the quintessential wisdom of all scriptures, the Vedas, and the Bhagavad Gita.

She is eternal, filled with pure goodness, the personification of truth, and the matchless divine nectar of eternal reality.

Seated gracefully upon a swan and clothed in immaculate white garments, she shines with a golden luster and moves freely across the pure celestial heavens.

pustak pushp kamandalu maalaa. shubhr varn tanu nayan vishaalaa.

Holding a book, a flower, a sacred water-pot, and a prayer rosary, she possesses a luminous fair form and large, compassionate eyes.

dhyaan dharat pulakit hiy hoee. sukh upajat duhkh duramati khoee.

In dhyan upon her fills the heart with profound ecstasy, giving rise to supreme peace while dispelling all suffering and evil intellect.

kaamadhenu tum sur taru chhaayaa. niraakaar kee adbhut maayaa.

You are like the wish-fulfilling cow Kamadhenu and the soothing shade of the celestial wish-granting tree, serving as the marvelous creative power of the formless Supreme Reality.

tumharee sharan gahai jo koee. tarai sakal sankat son soee.

Whosoever takes refuge at your holy feet is delivered safely from every conceivable crisis and danger.

sarasvatee lakshmee tum kaalee. dipai tumhaaree jyoti niraalee.

You are Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Kali yourself, and your wondrous divine flame radiates throughout the cosmos.

tumharee mahimaa paar n paavain. jo shaarad shat mukh gun gaavain.

Even if the Devi of learning, Sharada, were to extol your glory through a hundred mouths, she could never fathom its boundless depths.

chaar ved kee maatu puneetaa. tum brahmaanee gauree seetaa.

You are the sacred mother of the four Vedas, and you are identical with Brahmani, Gauri, and Sita.

mahaamantr jitane jag maaheen. kooo gaayatree sam naaheen.

Among all the sacred recites and supreme mantras in existence in this world, none is equal to the holy Gayatri mantra.

sumirat hiy men jnaan prakaasai. aalas paap avidyaa naasai.

Remembering her awakens the light of true spiritual knowledge within that person's heart and destroys lethargy, sin, and spiritual ignorance.

You are the primordial seed of creation, the cosmic Mother Bhavani, and the auspicious, boon-conferring Devi Kalaratri.

Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and all the host of celestial divinities derive their respective divine power and authority through you.

tum bhaktan kee bhakt tumhaare. jananihin putr praan te pyaare.

You belong wholly to your own just as your own belong to you, and you cherish them as dearly as a loving mother cherishes her own children.

mahimaa aparampaar tumhaaree. jay jay jay tripadaa bhayahaaree.

Your magnificence is measureless; victory, all victory to you, O three-footed Gayatri who dispels all existential dread.

poorit sakal jnaan vijnaanaa. tum sam adhik n jag men aanaa.

You are brimful of all spiritual insight and scientific knowledge, and there is no one greater than you anywhere in the world.

tumahin jaani kachhu rahai n sheshaa. tumahin paay kachhu rahai n kleshaa.

Once a person truly knows you, nothing remains unknown, and once you are attained, not a shred of distress or sorrow can endure.

jaanat tumahin tumahin hvai jaaee. paaras parasi kudhaatu suhaaee.

He who knows you merges into your divine essence, just as an inferior metal is transformed into fine gold upon the touch of the philosopher's stone.

tumharee shakti dipai sab thaaeen. maataa tum sab thaur samaaeen.

Your sovereign potency shines across every direction, for you, O Divine Mother, pervade every single place in creation.

grah nakshatr brahmaand ghanere. sab gativaan tumhaare prere.

All the planets, heavenly constellations, and vast cosmic universes remain in constant orderly motion guided by your divine impulse.

sakal srishti kee praan vidhaataa. paalak, poshak, naashak, traataa.

You are the author of the life-breath of all creation, acting as its preserver, nurturer, dissolver, and supreme protector.

maateshvaree dayaa vrat dhaaree. tum san tare paatakee bhaaree.

O Divine Mother steadfast in the sankalp of compassion, even the most grievous sinners have crossed the ocean of worldly existence by your grace.

jaapar kripaa tumhaaree hoee. taapar kripaa karen sab koee.

Upon whomever your divine mercy falls, everyone in the world showers benevolence and goodwill.

mand buddhi te budhi bal paaven. rogee rogarahit hvai jaaven.

By your grace, the dull-witted obtain sharpness of intellect and mental strength, while the sick are entirely freed from their ailments.

daarid mitai katai sab peeraa. naashai duhkh harai bhav bheeraa.

Your grace wipes away all poverty, cuts through every agony, destroys sorrow, and removes the dread of worldly rebirth.

grih-kalesh chit chintaa bhaaree. naasai gaayatree bhay haaree.

Mother Gayatri, who vanquishes all fear, completely eradicates bitter domestic conflict and overwhelming anxieties of the mind.

santatiheen susantati paaven. sukh sanpati yut mod manaaven.

The childless are blessed with worthy, virtuous offspring, living happily amidst wealth, prosperity, and joyous celebrations.

bhoot pishaach sabai bhay khaaven. yam ke doot nikat nahin aaven.

Evil spirits and ghosts cower in terror before her, and the messengers of death dare not approach the one who keeps her.

jo sadhavaa sumiren chit laaee. achhat suhaag sadaa sukhadaaee.

A married woman who contemplates her with an undistracted mind is blessed with unbroken marital fortune that brings lifelong happiness.

ghar var sukhaprad lahai kumaaree. vidhavaa rahen satyavrat dhaaree.

Unmarried maidens obtain a joyful home and an ideal husband, while widows are endowed with strength to uphold the holy sankalp of truth.

jayati jayati jagadamb bhavaanee. tum sam aur dayaalu n daanee.

Victory, all victory to you, O Mother of the universe Bhavani; there is none so tenderly merciful or bountiful a giver as you.

jo sadguru son deekshaa paaven. so saadhan ko saphal banaaven.

Whoever receives sacred initiation from a genuine spiritual preceptor succeeds in bringing all spiritual practices to full fruition.

sumiran karen suruchi badabhaagee. lahain manorath grihee viraagee.

Those fortunate souls who lovingly holds in dhyan her, whether they are householders or detached renunciants, achieve the fulfillment of their deepest aspirations.

asht siddhi navanidhi kee daataa. sab samarth gaayatree maataa.

Mother Gayatri is the giver of the eight yogic accomplishments and the nine divine treasures, being omnipotent in every respect.

rishi, muni, yatee, tapasvee yogee. aarat, arthee, chintit bhogee.

Whether they are seers, sages, ascetics, hermits, yogis, or those in acute distress, seekers of wealth, the worried, or seekers of worldly pleasure—

jo jo sharan tumhaaree aavain. so so man vaanchhit phal paaven.

Whosoever comes to take shelter under your wings surely receives the desired fruit of their heart.

bal, buddhi, vidyaa, sheel svabhaaoo. dhan vaibhav yash tej uchhaaoo.

Physical strength, mental acumen, knowledge, noble character, wealth, splendour, fame, spiritual glow, and joyful enthusiasm—

sakal badhen upajen sukh naanaa. jo yah paath karai dhari dhyaanaa.

All these flourish and diverse kinds of happiness spring forth for anyone who recites this stotra with steady and absorbed dhyan.

yah chaaleesaa bhakti yut, paath kare jo koy. taapar kripaa prasannataa, gaayatree kee hoy.

Whoever recites this Chalisa filled with devout surrender is blessed with the everlasting grace and benevolent favour of Mother Gayatri.
