જન્મજદુઃખવિનાશકલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga that ends the sorrow born of birth — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
દેવમુનિપ્રવરાર્ચિતલિઙ્ગં કામદહં કરુણાકરલિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga honoured by the devas and the best of sages; the linga that burnt Kama, a treasury of compassion;
રાવણદર્પવિનાશનલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga that humbled Ravana's pride — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
સર્વસુગન્ધિસુલેપિતલિઙ્ગં બુદ્ધિવિવર્ધનકારણલિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga anointed with every fragrance; the linga that makes the mind grow wise;
સિદ્ધસુરાસુરવન્દિતલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga bowed to by siddhas, devas and asuras — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
કનકમહામણિભૂષિતલિઙ્ગં ફણિપતિવેષ્ટિતશોભિતલિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga adorned with gold and great jewels; the linga lovely with the king of serpents coiled about it;
દક્ષસુયજ્ઞવિનાશનલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga that undid Daksha's great yagya — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
કુઙ્કુમચન્દનલેપિતલિઙ્ગં પઙ્કજહારસુશોભિતલિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga anointed with kumkum and chandan; the linga lovely with a garland of lotuses;
સઞ્ચિતપાપવિનાશનલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga that destroys the wrongs gathered over lifetimes — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
દેવગણાર્ચિતસેવિતલિઙ્ગં ભાવૈર્ભક્તિભિરેવ ચ લિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga honoured and served by the hosts of devas, with feeling and with bhakti;
દિનકરકોટિપ્રભાકરલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga as bright as ten million suns — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
અષ્ટદલોપરિવેષ્ટિતલિઙ્ગં સર્વસમુદ્ભવકારણલિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga set upon the eight-petalled lotus; the linga that is the cause from which everything arises;
અષ્ટદરિદ્રવિનાશનલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga that ends the eight kinds of want — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
સુરગુરુસુરવરપૂજિતલિઙ્ગં સુરવનપુષ્પસદાર્ચિતલિઙ્ગમ્ ।
The linga honoured by the devas' guru and the best of the devas; the linga honoured always with flowers from the gardens of the devas;
પરાત્પરં પરમાત્મકલિઙ્ગં તત્ પ્રણમામિ સદાશિવલિઙ્ગમ્ ॥
the linga beyond the highest, the supreme self — to that Sadashiva linga I bow.
લિઙ્ગાષ્ટકમિદં પુણ્યં યઃ પઠેત્ શિવસન્નિધૌ ।
Whoever reads this Lingashtakam, full of merit, near Shiv ji,
શિવલોકમવાપ્નોતિ શિવેન સહ મોદતે ॥
reaches Shiv ji's world and rejoices with him.
