दीपं ज्योति परब्रह्म
The diya's flame is the highest Brahman;
दीपं सर्वतमोपहम् ।
the diya takes away all darkness.
दीपेन साध्यते सर्वं
By the diya everything is brought about:
सन्ध्या दीप नमोऽस्तु ते ॥
evening diya, I bow to you.
