मृत्युना दण्डपाशाभ्यां कालेन श्यामया सह।
mr̥tyunā daṇḍapāśābhyāṁ kālena śyāmayā saha.
To Yamraj, with Mrityu, with the staff and the noose, with Kaal and with Shyama:
त्रयोदश्यां दीपदानात् सूर्यजः प्रीयतां मम॥
trayodaśyāṁ dīpadānāt sūryajaḥ prīyatāṁ mama.
by this diya I give on the Trayodashi, may the Sun's son be pleased with me.
