Jivitputrika · Jitiya puja samagri list
13 things to set out for Jivitputrika · Jitiya. The first 6 are pictured here; the whole list, pictured, with what each is for and a list that ticks off, is in the Kalava app.

Noni saag and madua attaFor the nahai-khai the day before, and again for the parana. Where madua cannot be had, a rice roti does; where noni cannot, any soft green.

Kusha grassA bundle from the temple or the pandit's — Jimutvahan ji's form is twisted from it, so take enough to work with. Soak it the night before.

Cow dung and haldiFor the jackal and the kite. A handful is plenty; the haldi is what holds it and colours it.

Red and yellow threadOne strand of each, twisted together: a length for the mother, knotted once for each child, and one for each child where the house ties them. It lies before Jimutvahan ji through the night.

Mustard oil and khaliThe day's own offering: a little oil and a piece of the oil cake, set on a nenua leaf. The oil is kept and touched to the children's hair in the morning.

Nenua leavesThe broad leaves of the sponge gourd, which the oil and the khali are offered on. Any broad clean leaf does where there is no nenua.
