Swati
Vayu, the wind · a young shoot swaying in the wind
Born with Chandra in Swati, the star of the wind, you are gentle, fair and flexible — courteous, slow to anger, and happiest in partnership and good company. You may be slow to grasp a thing, but once learnt you never forget it. Rahu's star in Shukra's sign draws you to trade and to modern goods: transport and travel, clothing and fashion, food and bakery, decoration and exhibitions, appliances and technology, and the arts. Like the wind you bend and do not break; the watch-points are indecision, the kidneys and the skin.
The four padas
Pada 1 — Dhanu navamsha (Guru); names begin with Ru (रू). The principled, outward-looking quarter — travel, trade and teaching come easily. (KP reads Swati's subs through Rahu's placement rather than a fixed list.)
Pada 2 — Makara navamsha (Shani); names begin with Re (रे). The patient, practical quarter — slow to learn, never forgetting; good for steady business.
Pada 3 — Kumbha navamsha (Shani); names begin with Ro (रो). The independent, modern quarter — technology, appliances and science suit it.
Pada 4 — Meena navamsha (Guru); names begin with Ta (ता). The gentle, compassionate quarter — the arts, music and caring work.
Health
The skin, kidneys and bladder: urinary trouble and skin complaints. Drink enough water, keep the skin clean and cool, and see a doctor for anything persistent.
