Hasta

Born with Chandra in Hasta, the star of the open hand and of Savitr, you are industrious and skilful — clever with your hands, quick in trade and able in almost any task you take up. KP sends Hasta overseas: shipping, export and import, clearing and forwarding, textiles, printing and the press, the engineering of bridges and canals, law and diplomacy. You learn quickly and earn by effort rather than luck. The gut is your barometer — worry and irregular meals show up there first — so keep regular hours, eat simply and go easy on drink.

The four padas

Pada 1 — Mesha navamsha (Mangal); names begin with Pu (पू). Quick hands and a busy mind; KP names clearing and shipping agencies, textiles and marine engineering — and warns off worry and alcohol.

Pada 2 — Vrishabha navamsha (Shukra); names begin with Sha (ष). Steady and commercial; KP names printing and publishing, port trusts, cloth mills and trade, and geology.

Pada 3 — Mithuna navamsha (Budh); names begin with Na (ण). Talkative and dextrous; KP names personal assistants, public speakers, salesmen and engineers.

Pada 4 — Karka navamsha (Chandra); names begin with Tha (ठ). Artistic hands; KP names painting on cloth, glass and spectacles, silk and textiles, shipping and nursing.

Health

The bowels and intestines: gas, loose motions and a nervous stomach; the arms and shoulders. Keep meals regular and simple, go easy on sweets and drink, and see a doctor for anything persistent.
