Dhanishta
the eight Vasus, gods of abundance · a drum
Born with Chandra in Dhanishta, the star of the drum and of the Vasus — the gods of abundance — you have rhythm, drive and a decisive will, and KP says this star becomes rich. In the Makara half you are cautious, forceful and fond of music, suited to engineering, metals, mining and medicine; in the Kumbha half scientific and social — research, electricity and electronics, communications and the organising of clubs and groups. You give freely but can hold a grudge; let the rhythm carry you past quarrels. The legs — knees, calves, ankles — need care, and so does your blood pressure.
The four padas
Pada 1 — Simha navamsha (Surya); names begin with Ga (गा). Firm and decisive; KP names land and farming, machine parts, geology and success in examinations.
Pada 2 — Kanya navamsha (Budh); names begin with Gi (गी). Commanding and acquisitive; KP names heads of schools and departments, finance, land and estates.
Pada 3 — Tula navamsha (Shukra); names begin with Gu (गू). The Kumbha half begins — scientific and sociable; KP names mechanical and mining engineering, industry and archaeology.
Pada 4 — Vrishchika navamsha (Mangal); names begin with Ge (गे). Researching and practical; KP names archaeology, geology and mines, defence, and water works.
Health
The knees in the Makara half, the calves and ankles in the Kumbha half: leg injuries and varicose veins; blood pressure and the heart. Protect the legs, keep your blood pressure checked, and see a doctor for anything persistent.
